The anticipated revenue loss for 2020 due to COVID-19 is $1.8 million. Mayor Vasquez prioritizes protecting public health while maintaining the essential services that residents and businesses depend on daily. While residents and business owners are stepping up to care for each other in extraordinary ways, Mayor Vasquez will continue to be laser-focused on the steady recovery of our community from COVID-19. Both socially and economically with a sincere commitment to reopening Lemon Grove businesses according to the guidelines set by the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency.

With the leadership of Mayor Vasquez, the City:
- Established a COVID-19 Update web page on City of Lemon Grove website.
- Held safe weekly food distribution events providing fresh fruit, vegetables and pantry items to Lemon Grove residents. More than 3,000 cars provided with groceries in their trunks.
- Successfully provided safe summer camps for youth, with no Coronavirus outbreaks.
- Provided $650,000 in grants to sustain small businesses in Lemon Grove.
- Partnered with California State Treasurer Fiona Ma and Brainzooming to host an online webinar focusing on new and radical shifts to jump-start local business operations during COVID-19 and beyond.
- Allowed businesses to open safely following the guidelines established by the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency.
